Food is awesome and I like that all the containers and utensils are compostable. However I feel like the portions are really large but you definitely get your money’s worth. I don’t need to eat a lot, but I feel like if I don’t finish the whole meal it’s going to waste. The problem with the cardboard to-go containers is that the juices and sauces seep through, which is another reason why I feel I have to eat the whole meal in one sitting. It would be nice to be able to bring my leftovers home or save them for later without worrying that the sauce is leaking. I understand that compostable containers are not cheap but if there were re-usable containers available for purchase that are sized according to the portions that are served, then I’d have a win-win situation. I could bring back my cleaned container for a new meal having the ability to save more for later, and I would be helping to save money and resources. Just a thought…

To each his own. I have not had a good experience in the new cafe, as of yet. The tongs in the salad bar are too small so I have to poke and poke to get enough in my container. It takes too long. The first sandwich I ordered was made with all the goodies only in the very middle of the bread, including a pile of sliced turkey that was all rolled up in a ball. So there was nothing around the edges but dry bread. Only a thin slice of pickle was included for over $7.00! The second time I ordered a sandwich, I requested that the condiments cover the edges as well as the middle. However, the whole wheat bread was so very thin that the condiments plopped out through the holes into the container while I was eating it. It was very messy. I’m used to eating sprouted multi-grain bread with some substance to it–not that pasty thin stuff that forms glue in the intestines. I don’t buy the ready-made sandwiches in the cafe because those breads are entirely too thick. Who wants all that huge amount of carbs and gluten? And is there a vegetarian sandwich available in the takeout section? Especially after 2 pm? I have never seen one.
The pizzas are made with very few toppings and again, they are all located only in the middle of a lot of bread with nothing around the edges.
Sometimes I just want a nonfat plain yogurt or a nonfat cottage cheese. I don’t want all that sugar in my yogurt, such as those presented in the cafe. Yet, there is no cottage cheese at all.

We apologize for the lack of substance in your sandwich! Your loyalty is important to us and we would like to invite you back to have a great experience in the cafe. We have an assortment of sliced bread available at the deli bar including multi-grain. We also have cottage cheese in house so please ask a server, cashier or manager and we would be happy to bring you cottage cheese to go!

I think it would be a good idea to post the Cafe operating hours at the top of your Home page rather than buried inside a web page.

I have enjoyed the salad of the day salads for the last few months, but wanted to let you know that todays Chinese Chicken salad (not sure if that is the proper title) was the best I have had. Great tasting grilled chicken. Good combination of stuff in the salad. Just thought I would pass along the compliment.

  6. Debra Troxell says:

I wish the coffee bar would open earlier…..like at LEAST by 6:30 am.

  7. James says:

Had pork ribs at the BBQ today (Farmer’s Market Day), they were very good. The apple coleslaw was also delicious. The greens though were WAY overdressed. I think if I squeezed out the dressing it would weigh more than the greens. I couldn’t eat them.

BTW, how do we CONTACT you guys via e-mail? Sometimes it would be nice to make an inquiry or ask a question without needing to post it on this forum.

  8. Lisa says:

I think the food is very good. Such an improvement from the last vendor. The quality is worth the price.

  9. Andy says:

Hi, Is it possible to get burrito bowls in the burrito area for lunch? Just basically a burrito without the tortilla, but with more rice and beans instead, and served in a bowl.

I have an allergy to wheat, and I find the options to be extremely limiting all around. Thank you.

  10. Ann says:

Please update the above information to reflect your actual hours. I came at 11 AM, only to be informed that the cafe opens at 11:30. Thanks.
